OBION COUNTY LEPC

MINUTES FROM July 31, 2012, 1:00 P.M.

Regional Health Office

Members present: Stan Mitchell, Lori Barker, Tom Menees, Kelly Edmison, Rob Adcock, Tim James, Dale Hollowell, Chuck Baller, Bob Stephens, Lynn Fritchey and James Cobb.

 

The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Stan Mitchell. Stan welcomed everyone.

 

The minutes from June 2012 meeting were presented for approval. Tom Menees made a motion to accept the minutes, and Kelly Edmison seconded the motion. The motion carried.

 

Stan announced that Samburg Fire was now on VHF.

 

Rob Adcock announced that the Northwest Tennessee Disaster Service is hosting a Be A Lifesaver Day. The event will be held on Saturday, August 18 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 1260 E. Highway 22 in Union City. Events will include Emergency Response Demonstrations and Emergency Kit and Disaster Plan Instructions. Free admission, hot dogs and sodas.

 

Stan reminded everyone of the upcoming LEPC Conference in Pickwick on August 7 & 8.

 

Dale Hollowell reported that schools would be opening soon and the principals are working on their crisis guidelines.

 

American Red Cross announced a class on Sheltering August 25 at First Baptist Church in Martin.

 

At this time, Stan asked to excuse absent members. Bob Stephens made a motion to excuse absent members, Rob Adcock seconded that motion. The motion carried.

 

Kelly Edmison made a motion to adjourn; it was seconded by Tom Menees.

 

The next meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. at the Regional Health Office in Union City.
